Nancey West is a freelance writer who was raised on a cattle ranch in the sagebrush hills near John Day, Oregon. She lived in Cannon Beach, Klamath Falls, Bend and Halfway before settling down in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. She met her husband, Jon, while attending college for Forestry. They built a log home and raised two children on their farm outside Lebanon, Oregon.
While enjoying riding horses and working in agriculture and forestry, Nancey spent most of her life outdoors; until a chronic autoimmune disorder disabled her in 2004. Her struggle to find new meaning in her life lead to a search through her past and opened her eyes and heart to helping others.
Through her own struggle with poor self-value she recognized the same condition in many guests of the Soup Kitchen. She reached out to women who stay in bad situations because of their lack of self-value with a support group. Her passion is in wanting others to know their true value in God’s eyes.
Nancey seeks to bring a positive focus to her writing and speaking.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
